GONE, BUT NOT FORGOTTEN
2023–University of The Arts, London–London

Urban development continues to decimate the original natural horticulture in public spaces—highly gentrified areas in London position themselves as a graveyard for the species that once inhabited it. Weakened soil quality, pollution, ecosystem imbalance and lack of diversity inhibit their capacity to persist.

Left endangered or demolished, the token of funeral flower lettering mourns the loss of the endangered species. 'Gone, But Not Forgotten' challenges the ownership of space. Who has the right to prevail, who is present in the other's absence and who will prevail in the end? Human versus nature, has the disputed gentrification blanketed over more than meets the eye?
