'Fooligans F.C.' is a project highlighting extremism in sports. It's described as antisocial and violent behaviour by specific sports fans. In football, this subculture is hooliganism. Prominent in every football-playing country, they are notorious for the chaos, riots, and destruction caused.
'Fooligans F.C.' investigates the relationship between architecture and crowd management in sports stadiums. Does segregation between football fans act as a catalyst for antisocial behaviour? Does this violent, unnecessary warfare provoke feelings of deindividuation and disinhibition? Is there a correlation between exclusion and ownership of space with violence? What motivates this rebellious behaviour? What are the intentions and desires of this subculture? Who or what are they turning up for?
The actions of this subculture reflect poorly on football. They paint it in a detrimental light based on their actions, distracting from the game itself. The badge of allegiance to football, a football scarf, acts as a canvas to raise these questions.

Calling Cards
In the context of hooliganism, a calling card is a message left behind by a group of hooligans after they have committed an act of violence or vandalism. It serves as a way for the hooligans to claim responsibility for their actions and to intimidate their rivals. It includes a message or slogan and a logo associated with the hooligan group. A ‘business card’ per say.
These cards are used by some hooligan groups as a way of asserting their dominance and asserting their presence in the community.
I drew inspiration from the slogans and typogrpahy found on these cards. Applying the assertive, direct tone of voice which further connects the context of my scarf to these groups directly.
